The UK may well have withdrawn from the EU, but we very much doubt that will deter people from travelling to their favourite places across Europe, whether it be driving from the UK to the Nürburgring or crossing the channel from France to visit Silverstone.
There is a possibility there will be changes in required documentation for drivers after 1st January 2021 but until then, for those of us driving across the English Channel, things will remain as they were during this official transition period.
Of particular interest to DN Events customers driving from the UK to the Nürburgring, this official UK Government page outlines potential future changes if the UK and EU do not agree mutually beneficial arrangements. This page outlines travel advice specific to Germany.
Until this date, we should all carry on as before;
Insurance on the Nürburgring is often viewed as a problem and we don’t consider there to be any change during the withdrawal transition period. Here in the UK we say ‘the devil is in the detail’ – always check the small print on policies or refer to a decent broker for advice. Insurance risk is always a very personal thing so please satisfy yourself you have sufficient cover for your needs.
Above all – take care.
Remember, you’re a long way from home and don’t need any problems through carelessness or neglect.
Your DN Team.
We will try to update this page with any new information likely to affect driving enthusiasts crossing the channel.
